[SKIN]M9 Beretta. Need Critique

Well,
I finished my FIRST EVER skin earlier today, the person who modeled it (Doorstop) did the render for me after I was finished. He was the creator of the model.

For whatever reason, the render makes the skin look a bit redish, it ain't supposed to. Now I know I messed up on the grip a bit as the ridgey part is not the same color as the rest of the grip and I didn't add the screws..2 little mistakes I could easily fix.

BUT..for my FIRST skin, how is it?

Thanks guys! Glad you like it. My next project is skinning an XM8, as of now, I think it's going to be 10x better then my M9 skin.

Looks great man, but try giving it a bit of wear-and-tear. Add some scratches and dodge/burn parts of it.

the only thing i can see against it is the brand new look. No weapon should ever look that new. Give it some scratches and maybe get some dirt in the grip and SWEEET!!

Can you please explain step for step how you skinned the gun, and what programs you used? I am keen to start skinning, but can find very little good, broad info on the subject.

It truly is ..See, I wanted to get into skinning back when UT2003 was released full a total conversion mod that had shown awesome progress but I no body gave a damn about teaching me crap. So I posted in here the other day..you can go look if you don't believe me .. in this Modding forum, find where I said New Skinner Need Help or something like that. Later that day, DoorStop who posted above IMed me and started helping me out, sending me his M9 Beretta he made and such. Worked on it for about 2 hours the first night, then another 2 1/2 hours the next night .. some breaks in between however till I finally finished it.

I can't tell you how many people IMed me yesterday asking me to teach them to skin :laugh: but it's all good.

Anyhow, thanks all for the comments! Gonna keep working at it and hopefully SOMEDAY be as good as the guys over at PoE
