    Client crash!

    Pen 4 2.4
    2gb ram
    ATI 9600 AIW 128
    100 gb ide HD (OS)
    2X 250 gb SATA raid 0 HD (BF2)
    Windows xp SP2 firewall disabled
    Gigabyte 1394Sinxp MB

Every time I play my client crashes to desktop. I run all the settings on low except AA (2x). I have been booted due to punkbuster detecting a memory error , but I'm not sure that has anything to do with the crash. Is this crash by the client or is my computer dieing from BF2's killer hardware consumption?

Update all of your drivers. And since it looks like you're using onboard sound, you may want to use the software rendering, not hardware.

Also make sure you uninstall your old drivers, and run a driver cleaning program prior to installing new ones. I use Driver Cleaner 3 (google is your friend). Run it per his instructions on the website.

The sound card is the only thing I haven't updated on the card in a while. I do have a Sounblaster Audigy. I wish I got some sort of error when it crashed....

I reinstalled the drivers for the sound card and it seems to have helped a bit. I can now make it through three rounds b4 crashing.

Did you install the latest drivers from Creative?

I recommend using the software update (requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or above) as it will update not just drivers but EAX and the whole kit-n-kaboodle.
