problem with installing BF2

I just got the game and loaded it into my Drive, But nothing happens, the drive cant read the disc, i dont get any errors. it just doesnt know it's there,, i've tried other games i have and once i put them in it's loads up and the autorun kicks in and i see the splash screen for the game,, i tried the game in my bro's laptop and it starts no problem ??

Whats going on, my PC is are advanced then his laptop. anyone got any ideas?

I would try updating the firmware on your drive, if possible. If not, I would take it back to the store and try and exchange it. Are we talking CD or DVD? I guess I gotta ask, your not putting a DVD in a CD-Rom drive are ya? Most laptops have DVD/CD-rom combos so if you bought a DVD by accident, and didn't have a DVD drive in your computer, but the laptop does, it would work only in the laptop......

I did get the DVD verison, only problem was my DVD player was broken. wo i went i bought a new one and it works great,
