80 fps is certainly doable on lesser hardware. I get 80 fps on certain maps.

    50 on most.

I found that Xfire was causing FPS drop so I stopped using it. I was getting between 30 and 50 when I used to get 50 to 80. If I decide to try and give Xfire another shot, I'll disable in-game messaging and post my findings. But once I find that an app interferes with my gaming, it tends to get uninstalled rather quickly

Yes I get the exact same thing, 15-30fps with it then I'll average above 50-80 without it.

I used Xfire before and I did notice tons of FPS stuttering and constant ping spikes.

After I stopped using it (I even uninstalled it because I didn't like it at all... it wasn't useful for much of anything) , most of my problems went away.

I thought I was the cat's ass when I was kicking 30 fps. In the spirit of Shatner I-Need... more... ram...

Those guys from xfire are aware of this problem and are looking into it. I hope they have an answer soon.

I have these problems as well. Since i re-installed everything (xp etc.).

Installed the latest java yesterday, maybe this fix it for me..someone here said something about java + xfire. EDIT: Not working
