My Game Is Teasing Me

I have been playing BF2 on my computer for about a month now. It has always run well and i use medium video settings.

When i load up Bf2 everything runs fine and dandy, i load the game up search for a server, fine. Once i hit join game the spawn screen comes up and this is where my problem starts. For some reason my mouse cursor wont move and non of the keys i have bound work either, i cant hit escape and return to menu and i cant open console.

The annoying thing is that i can see the game playing behind the spawn screen, i hear commander orders and see ppl running around so it isnt a complete crash or "freeze". Has anyone else encountered this problem and if you have is there any way to cure it. thoughts and opinions please :cry:

I am getting this exact same problem.
I made a new user account and this one works fine??
Hustler, are you using a cordless mouse?
Please someone shed some light, my frozen mouse account has 8,300ish points and I don't want to loose them! :cry:

Since you can retreive you account easily, couldn't you remove the cached information from your hard drive (\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles), reboot BF2 and retreive this account info again? Almost sounds like something got corrupted?

You should know the password before attempting this.

You need to reset the controls to default. For some reason BF2 has this brainfart and looses the custom bindings for your profile (don't ask me, I didn't write the darned game). If you can do this in-game, you need to physically reset them by replacing the file in your profiles folder.
