Vehicle Positional Damage ?

I was wondering... if it makes a difference where a sniper hits a person, could it make a difference what part of a chopper or other vehicle is hit in determining the quickest way to blow up said vehicle/chopper.

If I aim at a chopper's tail with a jeep mounted machine gun, will I bring it down faster than if I shoot at the main body or windshield

I honestly don't know about the choppers and their weak points. However, their are hit boxes in the game and certain areas do inflict more damage.

Head shots kill quicker than shooting someone in the azz.

Hitting a tank in the treads or the azz end can kill it in two shots if done properly. Hitting it head on takes three or more.

So, to answer your question, yes....it matters where you hit your target.

Yep, don't bother with trying to hit tanks in the front. Just kick 'em in the junk. I think a well aimed TOW shot can take a tank down in one hit, but I'm not positive of that(ignoring the sweet spot nonsense). 2 TOW shots will definitely make it go kaboom though.

Hitting a tank in the ass can be great since it might not kill it, but you can see it flaming...the driver stays in it and keeps on driving for a few more seconds and then BOOM...heh.

I did some experimenting with the anti tank kit and found that typically:
Kill a Tank: 4 to the front
3 to the side
2 to the rear
Kill a HUMV: 1 shot to the rear
2 on side or front
Kill an APC: 2 shots to any side

Didn't really matter where on the vehicle/tank/apc I hit it...still did around the same percent damage. I haven't tested hitting postions on vehicles/tanks/apc with another tank or apc yet...

You can kill tanks from the front by shooting directly into the tracks. It will take 2 shots from AT missles and tanks. But will only require 1 TOW.

did you just totally contradict yourself? anyways if humv means the hummers, than it only takes one shot w/ any kind of anti-tank missile to make it go boom.

Yeah...I guess it sounds like I contradicted myself....what I meant was it didn't matter where on the tank (treads or turret) you hit, it did the same damage...
