Both BF1942 and BFV had binoculars in at least some of the classes. BF2 has none and I miss 'em. I like to do a little recon first before I storm a flag and there isn't always the convenience of a UAV to help spot the enemy. IRL not every grunt owns a pair of binoculars, so maybe it could be exclusively for squad leaders. Discuss!

I never play sniper. I have the medic unlock but that rifle is a bit too under-powered for my taste.Originally posted by =::StOn3dWoLf::=Maybe...but in BF1942 and BFV soldieers had binos just to spot a target for artillary, which didn't really work out well..and if you wanna check the flag before going in, use a sniper scope
Maybe binoculars in BF2 could be a bit like in FarCry. When you spot enemies with it, they appear on your mini-map. If it's a squad-leader-only feature it might work.Comment

. However, it might be a good idea to give binocs to snipers and spec-ops kits, so they can be effective scouts. they could also srve to gi screenshots to other players, a bit likethe arty spots in BF1942, but available to everyone and, of course, not linked to arty.

Yea that would be while im taking a flag as a assualt.. "Hang on let me pull my scope out of my @ss" lol Not everyone has a scope is my point so yes binoc's would be cool. If nothing else just to spot infantry.Originally posted by =::StOn3dWoLf::=Maybe...but in BF1942 and BFV soldieers had binos just to spot a target for artillary, which didn't really work out well..and if you wanna check the flag before going in, use a sniper scopeComment
