Config problems
When my Linux bf2 server loads up it apears fine, but when we load to it, all the values i set in /bf2/mods/bf2/settings/serversettings.con only some load. For example, the server size is correct i set it to 16, but i can't get a server MOTD or a server name. And as for the values u are supost to see when u load there all 0 0 0 0 0 0 and the server port is ) : 0 that...no ip no port, can anybody fill in the gaps in what i missed building that server?

Yes, i have the same problem. For example my welcome message works fine, while my server name doesn't change, it just stays blank. I also noticed that i cant disable external views, even if i put sv.allowexternalviews 0, i can change cameras during the game.
Somebody help. I dont know why, but everytime i ask this question in a forum, nobody answers. Please. Help Me. -
Just a guess here, but it could be corrupted installs.
Server only or Client/server box's?
if it's server only, go get the Dedicated Server from EA again and install in a new folder, edit the configs again, dont copy any old stuff to the new install..
Run new install and see if they work.

Nope. No effect. I deleted the server folder and put back a fresh copy. Nothing changed. While the loading screen i can't see any info about the map/server. Everything is 0 (Tickets, PlayerRatio, TimeLimit) even if it's not. The server name also doesnt appear. (in place where server name and ip:port should be there is just (:0).Comment
