I feel the same way. I get really pissed off with people punishing when it was their fault they drove into a damn mine, or it says you team killed when you didnt even do anything and then they punish you for something you didnt even do even when you said sorry.

And those selfish ****s that never give you a ride or stop and then just take off again.

The only thing i have going for me is to win more guns. But none are really that much better than the other and i cant choose so ill pick one and get bored with it and have to wait for ages to get a new one.

And the fun itself, its very hard to get on a server with decent people, usually when you join a server, your side allways has half the ammount of players as the other, and they pick **** maps that never have any vehicles so you are stuck in some **** place for half an hour just to run all the way across the map to be killed by some ***** in a LAV.

The times i really have fun are strike at karkand and the city maps where its just gunfights and the **** people cant hide in their APC's and tanks.

Gaining High Ranks is too hard because of ridiculous Point-Requirements and has no real Benefits anyhow ( one usually unlocks the most favoured Weapons in the first Ranks ).

And do I/you/we really want to go around sporting a Sargeant or higher rank, especially in the first 6-12 months? That just reeks of nerdness, IMO.

In fact, I wouldn't really want to be one of the top 25 all-time scorers. It would just tell everyone around me that I'm a hardcore BF2 nerd who plays it 24/7 and has no life.

Anyone who is top score in BF2 and claims they have a life is a big fat liar. If you check my stats, look at the hours I've put in just to get where I am. Way too many since I play mostly base defense, and help my team win rather than point whoring. And I play more than my friends.

My friends have no hope in hell to gain any sort of rank, they're way too busy.

play with friends... get on teamspeak, ventrilo or just use the in game VoIP. When ur with friends u can joke around and use true teamwork. It's much more enjoyable.

After hitting Corporal i somewhat lost a lot of Interest in playing BF2 - heres my personal main reasons :

Judging from some Sites out there, gaining higher Medals is an Effort of a LifeTime. I dont play a Game to put 2000 Hours into it just to get some worthless Golden Graphical Gizmo..

The Punishment System might be a nice idea - but as usual with any System that works great in Theory - the Idiots tend to break it..

Playing Commander is becoming more of a Pain - Preparing a FlagPoint for Capture by Artillery-Striking it, and then seeing a Transport-Helicopter of your own fly right into that and get destroyed is just a joke - oh and of course some Guy in the Helo will punish you for it.

i hear ya man. tonight is the last ****ing straw...
server after server of ****ing retards. lets see, every team i joined got totally owned by the other team, every ****ing round. i called for a medic who was standing maybe 20 ft away. he runs right by me and gets in a jeep. i go to the jeep and ask for medic again and he drives away. i ask him why he ignored so he comes back and throws a nade at me and kills me. then revive me.

next time, i'm in some aa vehicle i think and i kill another aa vehicle. i drive past it then all of a sudden i get a tk punish. so i ask wtf that was for, i didn't shoot any of my teammates! the guy says the aa vehicle blew up. i guess the ****tard was standing right next to it when it blew up and i get a ****ing tk punish for it. i'm tired of these ****ing asholes punishing for their own mistakes or punishing right away without giving me a chance to say sorry. i NEVER tk on purpose - that defeats the purpose of the game. if i tk you, its pure accident.

then i get to 1000 points and i decide to quit and check my new rank and **** and i thought you got a unlock at 1000, but then the game crashes. i log back in and no points. still 990 points.

so now i go into another game and as soon as i spawn, blam, m203 blast me to hell. so i spawn at another point. drive 10 ft and blam, AT missile and i blow up. spawn at another point again, blam, m16 fire to my face.

so i quit that game then it shows i got my rank. but no ****ing unlocks!!! wtf? when the hell do you get an unlock??? this game is really pissing me off.

Games boring, and just way to many bugs/glitches for my liking. I may come back when the next patch is released but until then i'm sticking to aa:sf.

I agree with one thing the points needed for the ranks is ridiculous.

Corporal is too may points and once you make corporal it is way too far to the next rank for all but the totally obsessed players.

It is indeed off putting to the general gamer who may play for a few hours a day.

The doubling system would have been much better. Add more ranks and make them easier to obtain, that would make people feel they are achieving something.

At the moment, I may make Corporal in a month or so but I am never gonna make the next rank its just way too much gametime for me to ever do it, so instantly an incentive to play is removed.

Everyone likes a pat on the back now and then but 2-3 months of gameplay between pats is just stupid.

Change servers or just goof around. Try to get badges or something. Or change which kit you use to something you rarely use. Or just take a break.
