radeon9600se VS geforcefx5200

ok right now i gotta radeon 9600se in my computer, mom came home with a geforce fx 5200 for the other computer, which one should i keep? i assume the fx5200 because its 256megs but i decided to ask you, what kinda leap in performance would i get? right now im runnin the game on all low settings, coudl i put them to medium mayby?

9600 is faster, and although the card only has 128mb of memory the core clock and the memory clock are higher. The 256 won't make that much of a difference for gameplay, and too many people think that more memory is better. In all honesty, unless you run super high resolutions, then 128 is usually enough. Most high-end cards come with 256 (and starting recently some lower end cards) to support the higher resolutions, however with the lower-end cards the performance will not be there.

So basically, the 9600 is the better card, the 5700fx is the Nvidia equivelent to your 9600. The 9200 is the equivelent of the 5200FX you have.

lol stubbs. i would stick with the 9600. i replaced my nvidia 5200 with a 9600 and could tell difference in game play. seg

9600, 5200 is lower version than 9600

The 5200 was a stop-gap measure to give Nvidia directx 9 support for workstations. It wasn't really meant for gaming.
