This was something that bothered me enough after playing all these weeks that I had to jump on here and make a post asking others what they thought. I have become pretty decent at using the armored units, but one thing keeps driving me nuts. I can't count how many times I've laid a shell no more that 2-3 feet form some guy crawling around w/ AT rockets and they are unscratched. I had onetime a guy was hiding behind a stone rail on the side of a stairway in one of the MEC cities and i put @ least 3-4 shells up there only to have him pop up and take me out. It just seems to me that if an 88mm shell or bigger hits within a few feet in an enclosed area it should do more than it does. But then again , I've had tank duels where i hit the other guy 3 times and I get popped after 2, or even 1 every so often so I guess not everything on this battlefield makes sense. Just had to throw that out after playing this long. Similar experiences anyone...?

I agree and a little more torque for the hills and less damage when you barely hit a little bump...Comment

Yea you hit a foot high bumb and it takes a little health away, it shouldn't take any health away at all!Comment

Not to mention your tank can't even CLIMB that foot high bump. Apparently EA figures 1,500HP Gas Turbine = 15HP lawnmowerOriginally posted by =VnR=|DANNY|Yea you hit a foot high bumb and it takes a little health away, it shouldn't take any health away at all!Comment

Sir. iNGy
i agree the damage is feeble, it anoyed me when i first started playing bf2 but ive got used to it. In 1942 an Nam' did the tanks have a much larger area of splash damage or am i just thinking wrong from what seems a distant time?

I am not satisfied with the splash damage either. As a tank you should be a big, infantry murdering machine. Granted C4 and anti-tank rockets hurt but still, the shells should masacre if they land within a few feet of a person.Comment

I think the tanks are focused on anti-veichle not murdering troops as we have APC's and Jeeps that do the job very well........ but MORE SPLASH DAMAGE! pleaseOriginally posted by PuffyCowI am not satisfied with the splash damage either. Haha, yes I know it is aimed for that. But really, this is made like a triangle. Infantry is inferior to armor. Armor inferior to air. And air inferior to, uh, AA and noob pilots :)
Just saying that you should have your butt handed to you when you are staring at a tank.Comment

Maybe they could make 2 different kinds of rounds like in Point of Existence. That way you can change shells when needed.Comment
