It seems that punkbuster is causing alot of people problems but nobody knows what to do about it. Disabling Punkbuster helps on some servers but you can't play on the majority.

This worked for me, disable Norton Internet Security or any equivalent program, and check how well you are in game after that. The game was literally unplayable and just annoying to look at. Give it a shot

This is most often the cause as programs such as NAV, or NIS, will scan all activity that goes in/out of the computer. I have McAfee Internet Security, it uses less system resources and doesn't interfere with my game at all. Programs such as these can also interfere with installs as well.
