    Flares

How do I know when flares have actually been released by my jet or chopper? I think I can hear it but does it not show up in the HUD somewhere? I also can't seem to see if I'm out of flares or something. A little confused about that.

So far I always change the camera view to outside to see if they worked but I'd rather not have to do that...

I don't think there is any indication in the HUD that you are dropping flares, you either need to listen for it, or toggle your view to something external to visually verify the flares are being released.. and you can't run out of flares to my knowledge, they just take a few seconds to reload..

i dunno about that. either you run out or it takes an extremly long time for them to reload. if i don't fly back over my airstrip to reload, i can't use flares again. thats been my experience anyway.

heli flares reload faster than vehicle smoke reloads faster than airplane flares. But, they all reload an unlimited number of times and they all lack a visible indication of when you can next use them (or even just if they're available at all).

Learn to listen to the sounds during battle. That will indicate when you have new countermeasures to use. You hear a whirring and a couple of clicks when your countermeasures are reset.

The best indication that your flares have done their job is the fact that you get a few seconds break from the annoying BEEEEEEEP noise.

Also, it seems like helicopters can use flares REALLY often, and you're rarely without a flare, while planes have to wait ages for them to return. They really should change the times around to make it more balanced.
