I have noticed that the game uses a strange (and quite clever) terrain blending thing to allow transitions of textures at different ranges. People seem to sometimes blend into the ground at long ranges if viewed from high up.

Also i play the game with my ears more than my eyes...the only people who have ever snuck up on me have been spec-ops. Are spec-ops silent??

Specops arent invisible, one Strike at Akrkand i saw one running over the street and he was visible on the UAV.

The sniper should be invisible to radar scans. And they should have blended in like stupid DICE promised(can't blame EA on this one since they aren't the ones coding it).

some op force do appear as white dots when spotted in commander mode, but i don't know which kit, it just says "enemy infantry spotted". it's not necessarily spec ops because i have spotted some spec ops near the arty and they show up as red dots. on topic, EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING shows up on the scan and the UAV, NOTHING IS INVISIBLE.

White dots mean you've spotted teh enemy commander. I discovered this when I went looking for the enemy co and found a lone guy prone against a wall in back base. Friendlies were near so I spotted him and got the white dot.

Did this several times and each time dot was white.

                  White Dot = Enemy CO.

I got an email from EA after registering BF2 and in the email they gave me a tip that Spec Ops are invisible to radar when they are in a plane. I cannot see them on radar when I am in an AA. I can see them, however, in a UAV scan when they are in a plane. Hope this helps; if not, please flame me. :p

LMAO, so you guys think the sniper skin should change color with it's surroundings?

No, but they should be more map specific. No self-respecting sniper would walk around Karkand with those stupid brown grass jumpsuits. For an urban map, snipers shouldn't be wearing anything other than a light-colored uniform. For a map like Dragon Valley they should have a green grass suit, that would be more sensical.
