Sick of people playing for stats and not fun...

i play for fun and dont give a **** about the stats even tho it is nice to say my K ratio is like 600:400. but i get TKed i dont put up with it and i TK him getting -6 or watever and i dont give a ****. people are scared to TK cause they are afraid to have their stats go down.

I play for stats - and its definitely a different experience from playing on non-ranked servers. For example, you never see anyone b*tch about getting punished on a non-ranked server. I miss the days when all that you had to worry about was winning the map.

I play for stats but still manage to have fun.

Once I am in a server with people I know and/or likeminded publics I dont really keep track of my score I just get on with it and have a great time! That way when you do really well it just adds to your overall satisfaction

It's not how you play the game that matters, it's whether you win or lose.

I play for stats because that IS FUN to me.

Most FPSs require a little practice and skill; BF2 rewards that.
Most RPGs require time played to get a leg up on the competition; BF2 does that too.
(Ignoring the whole unlocable weapons suck debate).

If you have a good round say in Halo or whatever, who cares. You don't get anything but a higher number next to your name. At least in this game the developers tried to give players goals to acheive. If you're in the top three you may get a medal. After so many hours played etc. you'll get better medals, more unlocks, and higher rank.

Gaining stats and building them game upon game keeps me interested in playing.

i think that many people think that you cant play the game trying to progress in rank and enjoy it at the same time...i mean after all....if you didnt enjoy the game, why would u be playing it anyways? i seriously doubt the best players are forcing themself to play becuse they want to be the best, they simply have LOTS of free time and enjoy playing the game, as do many others. One thing that does bother me about bf2 ranked is that it doesnt matter who wins or looses, unless your commander. noone actaully cares about the outcome since all you need is points and the outcome doesnt have any effect on those....i think that if the game had some kinda system which rewarded EVERYONE for winning there would be much greater drive to win a round....

However, this complicates things. What about people who join in the middle of the game? do they get points? etc.etc. Every solution presents its own set of problems.

Saying that "i dont play for stats, i play for fun" reminds be of my roommate. hes a *****. When he sucks at games (halo 2 for example) he says....i dont play for levels i just try to play to have fun.... wtf is that!?!? yet everytime he happens to beat someone better hes all ape **** about how hes a video game god. i think saying such things is a excuse for people who just dont happen to play as much...doesnt mean they are worse, they just dont play as much...obviously everyone isnt like him but thats just the attitude i associate which such statments.....rant over...time to go back to work.

If you get teamkilled, don't teamkill back. I'm assuming they did it for a vehicle, so find them on the map in that vehicle and throw yourself in front of it. 2 more times and BINGO, that person is banned.

hehe i play for fun but i try to get as many points as possible for instance.. when i get a good squad or play with friends we try to BH whore because i just loce scream damnit *******s REPAIR!!!!!! when we become the center of everyones attention.

But that doesnt mean i cap and run with the BH, i would fly in hot, my gunners liberally applying death to the surrounding area cap the flag move out and orbit the flag twice before moving on... when i orbit i get like 10 more drive assist kills because most people run to the flag when they hear the BH moving away :)
