Help! Can't join any servers!

Hey guys,
Everytime I try to join a server on BF2 I click on it twice or click the join button and it says joining server but then goes to updating server list and won't let me connect. I also tried to uninstall the game and reinstall but it doesnt uninstall it. Please help! This is really annoying..

I had the same problem and here is how i fixed it. To start, i had attempted to install the 1.02 patch, with no success. The patch reported that i couldn't find the install directory for BF2. I changed the default from C: to D: when I installed it. I attempted to find the registry key that was suggested as a fix for our problem, and found that the registry key for our fix did not exist.

I tried to run the uninstall, and it did not uninstall. No indication about failed to uninstall, just a flash on the screen. Tired add remove programs, no luck either.

Then tried to reinstall, and the problem persisted. Launch the game, couldn't connect to any multiplayer servers, i thought WTF?

Anyway, i ran regedt32, did a registry search for any reference to EA, and deleted all references to EA. Be careful, delete the EA and subordinate keys, u need to be mindful of registry deletions. I had BF1942, RTR, BFV all installed, with references to all. Deleted all of them.

Once the registry cleanup was done, i deleted any directory on the pc associated with BF1942, RTR, BFV, and BF2. I then shut down the PC, turned it off.

Powered it up, popped in the BF2 disk, and ran the install. Gameplay is perfect, connect to servers that are unpatched, and all account information was retained, as it is not stored locally, i guess.

Let me know if it works bro....I'll be gamin tonight, unpatched at first to verify the game integrity, and the patched, with the suggested patch tweaks, subsequent to patching the game with 1.02

When you uninstall you need to also delete the folder in your "My Documents". Also make sure all of your hardware drivers are the most recent. Also make sure your firewall and router (if you have one) allow BF2 to play through. And update the game to v1.02.

No I have not. I got mine direct from EA's FTP. I can post my version of the patch.

had that same problem, you have to re-enter the cdkey for the game and you will be fine.
