Pistols suck atm, so many times i have come up behind someone and placed a mag of pistol rounds into his back only to have him turn around and drop me in one.

So yeah, rock on a pistol unlock.

Unless we could unlock a .50 Desert Eagle, a pistol unlock does not interest me too much.

The gun would have to be impressive for me to want to go through the trouble of unlocking one.

Naders need a grenade launcher and get smoke grenades if made into a seperate class

I'm sure we will be seeing all these things in the expansion pack. And I'm sure EA will make it so if you unlock something in the expansion you can carry it over to regulair BF2. Same thing with the ranks...

the mk23 SOCOM would be sweet as hell
sure, it might not be as powerful as a Desert Eagle, but at .45 calibers, it beats the **** out of the 9mm peashooters we get now

For balance purposes, a .45 would be best suited to replace the pea-shooters without making it a better choice than the three standard 9mms. Such as if the 1911 were introduced: half the magazine size (minus one), double the power.

Or for a real alternative, a Mini UZI: thirty-two rounds at a high speed with the same accuracy as the submachineguns, and change to single-fire to set it back to the same accuracy as the original pistols (guys only get four mags, to balance it out). Would seem to be quite useful in extended gunfights, with less reloading.
