Do not rely on your gun sights

Hi All,
I was playing a map and was the support class. I had out the PKM, I think, anyway, it’s their main gun. I was crouched in a garage doorway without zoom and was waiting for enemies. I was aiming about 2 – 3 inches away form the wall and then saw an enemy and started to fire, without zooming / using scope on him. I found that 5 of the 15 bullets hit the dam wall and was now even aiming at it!!!!! What the hell! I can only assume that the same amount went to the other side of the target and missed.

I did not test this with the zoom on, but if your gonna shoot, use your zoom or prepare to respawn

shooting trough ironsigt or not....it doesnt make realy difference. i only know of you shoot very slow...like 1 shot per second, the chance you shoot very accurate (like 90%) is way more higher than fully auto

Hm, I disagree, you have way better chances to hit when aiming, especially with the PKM which is nearly useless at med/long ranges, it has no 1 shot option btw, it's full auto or..nothing.

Auto is never very accurate unless solid mounted on gun, terret, Hmvee

Support is best for laying down lots of rounds quickly, dont waste time long distances or you will get shot before they are killed

Hey i no scoped someone with the m24 barret the other day, i was in kirk and this guy came around the corner i turned fire and before i could pull my pistol he was on the ground. it has to be one of the greatest moments in BF2 yet!

But using sights does improve your accuracy, the
pkm,SAW, machine guns have like a sweet spot, once you learn it your unstopable, i killed like 12 guys in a row coming one after another then i waited the medic came out and killed him too :)

Basic MEC and USMC carbines have the best sights ever ...

I already know the best ways to shoot my unlocked PKM. I know when not to use ironsights and when to use it.

err, PKM is pretty damn good at med/long range . . .

the pkm can be used as a semi-auto, if ur good enough ;-)

i was playing with it today and its totally possible to shoot 1 shot at a time if u gota quick finger, its best to do that method at really long range, i found it surpriseingly accurate even at really long range

medium/short range just mash ur left mouse button down

Or to get single shot fire full-auto till it overheats and keep the left button down, then once it goes one bar under overheating it will fireone shot and go back to over-heated. I've never tried this in combat but it could work.

Heh, I ended up no scoping an enemy infantry, who had surprised me, with the AT's mk-40.

Me sitting there hiding from a nearby tank... waiting for him to come into view and this guy jumps out and i click and *BOOM* rocket in the face. Was pretty hilarious.

Believe it or not, aiming through iron sights or not, the accuracy is still the same. Try with the M16. Shoot one shot in normal view and then shoot in ironsight, they go in the same direction and the shot doesn't even match teh ironsight.
