The model I posted from filefront is the game version for free...(so chill a little guys)

I am working on many different models, each one I do, I will do a game version for free... you can use them as you wish...

post them, trade them, or use them in mods... (I can't even play the game on this computer.) Im doing the game version models for you guys.

The really high poly models are for those who collect, or do animation...(you cant even use high poly models in the game,,,) so why the heck are you guys getting upset???

I mean christ! I do game versions for free!

You guys really need to read the hole post, not just frag a guy for your own reading mistakes.

Definitely not worth 15 bucks. It's not even skinned for christ sakes. I know you made a different free version, but seriously...

the thing is that u dont see anyone here charging anything for what the do, well... DJuice will be rich by now :P but i mean, this is a comunity or users of a game that we already payed for, so i think its really unfair to charge for those kind of things... what if the model doesnt work at all in the game, or if does it have any bugs or something? are u going to fix them for a price too???

i mean, i know that u made a free LOW poly version, but jesus man, it really piss me off...then u will see everyone charging money for skins, codes, tweaks, etc etc etc....

It isnt wierd at all people would sell models. Its more uncommon for them to be given away unless its for a game. What he means by High Poly is that it wouldnt work in BF2 or it would cause massive lags and crashes. The model that he is selling is for people that collect high quality models, and if you think $15 is rediculous, look around people, I have seen tons of models for $100. In any case, this model is still extremely high poly, 60,000+ polys, so it is nice. Stop complaining about buying a model until you actually know why its for sale. It is kinda hard to find free High Poly models on the internet, anything you find in excess of 30,000 polys you have gotten lucky. In my opinion he did excelent work, I cant imagine how many polys the one for sale has. BTW, the BF2 polycount guidelines for a weapon shows at most 4000, thats for a heavy MG, all the other weapons listed is lower. Reasons why people want extremely high poly models are for making images of battles or just because they are pretty to look at.

                              Thankyou...very well said.

The low poly version is still 6000+ poly, which is a little above the guidelines, but should still render ingame quite nicely...
if not, you can run optimise on the mesh to reduce the count a little.

The high poly scene that I have for sale is 61 megs, or 186,000 poly per weapon... (thats way above the polycount for any game) just to render one 1024x768 jpeg of the scene took 17minutes on an intel p4 2.8 ghz system.

Their are many high poly models for sale on Turbosquid (one of the leading model sites) some run as high in price as $1800.00 dollars.

I agree with all of you, it would be a shame to spend money on a model with less that 40,000 poly.
But when someone takes two or three weeks to do a really detailed, extreamly high poly model, they deserve a little something in return.

I have been a mod maker for 2 years, and have done some nice mods, models, and maps...(for the MOHAA series)
Im just taking the skills I have learned, and applying them to higher things...

I still plan to make models and mods for the modding community, but please don't begrudge me a little monitary satisfaction on the side.

Here's a link of 3D artwork created from high poly models...
This is mostly war related shots, so take your time, browse the links, this is a really great site for anyone to spend time on...

Also this site has tons of resources for the model maker... pics, diagrams, blueprints, not to mention tutorials and one on one help....
