I am addicted to getting badges and ribbons and ranks. Kind of like an MMO. And it has patches that help out the game. I am looking forward to 1.03 BF2 has loot omfg!

If Dice/EA play this right and keep building on the concept they've put forth with BF2, a number of us will still be playing this game 5 years from now. I personally think it's a fine game -- sure, there are bugs and a few problems, but the overwhelming majority of players seem to be happy with it.

I think they key for Dice/EA is to continue enhancing the game with free material, major leaps forward with expansion packs, and embracing the modding community.

Does anyone think that current events may crush the bf2 community? I know personally ive been playing alot more CS:Source and HL2: DM just because it works and is fast to get in and out.

This game kills CS and HL, but i must say i love STEAM - it's so much easier and faster to find and join a low ping server. It's so quick, smooth and painless. EA really has to do something about BF2's server browser - it's so slow and buggy, and i rarely find more than one or 2 servers with a ping lower than 100.

I love BF2. I think it's one of the better games I've ever played. I don't worry about what other people's stats look like for the most part, and people who are padding their stats will get bored soon enough, and leave. I think the bugs, and stuff will weed out the people who I probably really don't want to play with anyway, and they'll continue to improve the game, and tweak it for quite a while. I have no real gripes about it, I have a lot of fun with it. Will the BF2 community go away/"be crushed"? Not at all.

look at halo 2. the resently put out a patch that stoped modders from modding. and the midding in halo 2 was unfair way 2 win. jumping sky high allways head shot 1 shot kills very gay.but now its back 2 the normal whinners and crybabys that lose STILL. lol just wait bf2 will be better with the exspansion comming out

Well...I've gone back to SWAT 4 until the new patch comes out in late August. SWAT 4 WORKS and is a fun game. Plenty of servers to join as well and no punking.
