I had 2 guys gank the attack helo from me last night while I was watching a friend run up, had my back to the chopper...as it flew away I hit it once with my jackhammer, as a way of saying "hey, u took my helo", the idiot pilot promptly drove it into the ground, and I got credit for 2 tk's...and one of the tools punished me...wtf

That mechanic in the game is broken. If you happen to hit a helo or plane with your pistol.. and the retard cant control his plane and he died. You get tk'd, thats broken. You should cause x ammount of damage to said vehicle before you get "credited" with a TK.

Even like you did... hit it on purpose, and he decides to lawn dart himself. You should not get a TK because he knowingly killed himself and was deliberate in his actions. My $.02 anyways..

The other night I was playing, fired the missle at the enemy plane, and the last second he swerved and then I saw my teams blackhawk. I proceeded to kill all 4 aboard and ended up -24 on the team points. I spent the rest of the round as the medic because I couldn't finish the round that far down on team points and feel good about myself (penance?).

The next round I'm flying the helo and the other team's helo flies right into us. My gunner gets the teamkill for killing me. He screams over the mike "I'm the f-ing gunner how the hell did I teamkill anybody". I thought about punishing him just to see if I got get him to lose it, but felt it was safer for everybody not to. All I could say was - gotta love the TK system.

Especially the crashing system. I think its just pure luck on when you crash into anything who gets the TK. You can drive your plane into a tank on the ground and the poor sap driving the tank and minding his own business will get a TK for you being retarded. :/

Bad TK system if you ask me. But i still give credit to EA for making a decent game :)

I have spent a lot of time in planes and have N E V E R seen a missile go for another enemy aircraft if it misses the original target. The same goes for the stinger batteries. That's why I claim that all heatseeking missiles in BF2 are either infected with virus or have been reprogrammed by terrorists.

I have seen the the missiles miss easy enemy targets with the lock on and go straight for a friendly. I tend to use the planes machine guns more and more now. Atleast those bullets go approximately where you aim.

I have to agree with that statement. If the stingers miss their primary target, they seldom/never go after a nearby enemy. They seek out the nearest friendly every time.

Remember that cool pic/video we all drooled over? You know, the pr release where the stinger passes through the SeaHawk door? I thought that was a cool, freak occurence. In reality it happens with every broadside shot against a Sea hawk.

Sure you kill anyone sitting in the doors, but if you're unlucky like I was the other night the stingers pass through the Sea hawk crediting me with 2 kills and leaving the hawk unharmed. After passing through that hawk, my stingers then proceed to crash into the nearest team chopper and drop 6 teamkills in my lap.

I was kicked before I could explain what had happened.

That is just plain ole' bs contrived through programming. I could accept if it was a random occurence, but it happens every broad side shot and most other firing solutions too. Stingers arent that stupid, it's a dice thing.

A pilot must think very carefully before shooting stingers at a helo. The consequences are too high, many pilots think twice before firing. There are times I wont take a shot for fear of a tk. It leaves the hawks alot more time to roam the maps capping flags, especialy on maps like Fu she. I tend to use my cannon against helo's in most situations where there is a high prob of tk.

I've posted about this issue before, and I can easily, yes EASILY duplicate it for anybody who wants proof. It is NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE TK SYSTEM. :-) The problem is with stingers and air to air missiles. Let me explain what happens for the people who don't understand.

1st - You achieve missile lock on enemy vehicle with your jet/stinger site/carrier defense/mobile AA.
2nd - You fire one or more missiles, they fly off towards your locked-on target.
3rd - The enemy uses flares
4th - Now this is the key part. The missiles lose lock because of flares. Guess what they do next? They IMMEDIATELY lockon to the nearest visible heat source other than the flares or your initial target, be it friend or foe, and then nail it. You don't get the radar seek warning, they lockon and then hit almost instantly in most cases. There seems to be a certain radius or cone that they can do this in, they won't streak all the way to the other side of the map for somebody. It also seems like it is always friendlies it relocks on, but that may just be because an enemy aircraft is much more likely to be in close proximity to a friendly, when in air combat.
5th - The poor sap trying to provide AA for his team gets a bunch of tks and probably gets punished for this.

If you want to see this in action, the easiest place to do it is the USMC carrier whenever an enemy attack plane or copter comes in to strafe/bomb the carrier and you have friendly copters in the vicinity. Just hold lock on the plane till he is in the same quadrant of the sky as your friendly, then let fly. If he uses flares, the missiles will hit your team, not him.

As I said, it isn't really a problem with the tk system, it is a problem with the targeting behaviour of the lockon missiles after they lose initial lock.

I've been trying to exploit this lately to take down enemy helicopters when over enemy aa. Try to wait until the missiles are in the air before chucking flares and there is a good chance the enemy shoots down his own copter, getting him off your tail/out of your way. Takes some crazy timing, though.

Your gunner was a dick. If he punishes you on an accidental ram or crash, he is just being a dick.

We need a pilot-actuated gunner eject button, just to keep those dorks out of the front seat.

lol.... now what was i sapose to say.... o yea its all the piolts fault!!!... i was in the military i know what missles can do and this is very possible and i also fly but just becasue i get unlucky doesnt mean ea should make it so im lucky think about it this guy is preety much complaing about a regular tk its like saying its not fair i throw a grenade but then my teammte runs into it! or i hit the right button by accident and itked my whole sqaud accidents happen if you never want accidents to happen to find a nice closet and put pillows all over the wall and hang out in there
