Sniping Squads

Lately as some people would have read I've moved from support to sniping.

To begin with I was sniping in squads that had no snipers. They moreoften than not told me to get out and make way for a real player. Understandable, but confusing, seeing as snipers can make a huge difference. So I began forming my own squads, naming them something relevant to sniping, you know, "Snipers Only", etc.

Why for the love of anything would you join this squad if you're an assault, a support, a spec ops, an engy or a bloody AT man!?! And then abuse me because I'm staying in one spot not moving! (i got my streak of 13 here, i aint gonna move!)

I remember one bloke distinctly having a go at me on squadspeak to get out and do something. I finished 16 kills, 1 death (arty), Team score of about 10. He finihed 20+deaths, <10 kills, and -3 team points.

How can anyone be so dumb!

Anyways, to finish if you are a sniper and see a sniping squad, join it, cos it can be bloody good times!

Well i joined a squad of snipers that i knew had been lying in a row for a long time and i was a support. As soon as i joined i got screwed at because they were snipers. Don't know who it was but i was to give them all ammo i knew they didnt have alot and they were quite a distance from and spawn point. If i join your squad and im not a sniper its to give you ammo that kool.

I retract my comment about support, that does make sense. As long as they have enough sense to stay down and not give away the position by hammering away on their MGs, that does make sense.

I don't do theis often, but I would sometimes provide cover fire for my squad at distance. I try follow where they move and cover from 10 meters behind or off the top of the building.

Also, one time there were 3 snipers in our squad on top of the crane. A support or medic would spawn on leader, drop some supplies/bandages and jump down. The medic would occasionaly stick around and heal/revive.

Some people dont realise how handy a sniper can be, when I'm in a squad with my mates, I'm normally a sniper, while they storm a flag, I hang back and identify any threats that havent seen or pick them off myself.

Anybody can sit on their bums and shoot somebody when they spawn.

I know i bet they thought i was just a random guy that was gonna run off and give away there position or summin. i left 2 make them happy no need for all the hostility from people in this game its fun its a game.

I don't like snipers... sure they help, but anyone can use it.

but seriously, I dont understand the point in joining or making a sniper squad. Certainly you wouldnt waste a spot in a normal squad, unless your activly moving around and doing what they want. In reality though, a sniper is a born lone wolf...They camp in one spot the whole game picking off people, theres almost no teamwork in that...other than calling for an occasional ammo pack. I personally dont like the sniper..and i wont until they make it more accurate and realistic. However, if you had a "Sniper squad" i know i wouldnt bother to join it, less i was a sniper..
