BF2 Name Change Somehow?

ok, I was thinking of a way to change my name in bf2 and i came up with the idea, if you email EA and tell them to change ur BF2 name and could they??? they can give u ur unlockable back. then can they do this?

Sure they can do it, but I highly doubt they will. Think about it, then all 45 million members could ask, and then they'd have to do it. Let's be realistic now . . .

Hopefully EA might patch it in later (Path 1.9999 due out in late 2018 aka early 2028)

what if u did this:

To rename your soldier, which the game by default does not allow you to do, you must edit the file "\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\Profile.con" and change the first value, in the quotes, to whatever you wish your soldier's name to be. For example, change:

LocalProfile.setName "defaultPlayer"

to

LocalProfile.setName "<your new name>"

Would that still keep u're stats?

No because you log in using your name which is linked to a unique ID. If you change your name, it wouldn't be known which ID the name ilnks to and if it links to another, you'd need the password still. Basically: no. Just trust me.

actually, i don't beleive it's EA you would have to get in contact with. Isn't it GameSpy that does the account servers and such?

No last time I asked Gamespy they said to ask EA they had nothing to do with BF2 accounts
