What is the logic for determining squad leader?

What exactly determines who is the squad leader in a squad? Is it based on the order you joined? most experienced?

its based on who joins first for squad leader or if you make the squad then you are leader till you leve,then the person that joined after you becomes squad leader.

Not always. I have made a squad and the next couple people that join are friends, but when I leave the squad some random person gets picked, and not the person that joined after me.

i created a squad, five minutes later two others joined my squad and i was not squad leader anymore, i didnt realise till i went to ask for a UAV, so does that mean its done on rank?

I believe so.
I have seen this happen to me (once or twice only though) as well and its not just based on rank but I would presume your total points as well.

If a squad leader leaves the squad, the person in that squad who currently has the most amount of points in that round becomes the new squad leader. And, that seems to be the ONLY criteria the system uses in order to choose the new squad leader. Rank, total global points, and time spent in the squad seem to have no bearing.

I tested it last night, and that's the way she works. Try it out for yourself with a couple of friends sometime. Or, the next time you're in a squad and the SL leaves and a new SL is chosen, tab into the 'squad' page. I guarantee the new squad leader will be leading your squad in total points every time.

Yeah thats how it works. I was on awhile ago and joined a squad with 4 members and when the leader left I became the leader because I had 50 some points and the rest of the team was in the teens.

Hmm that sucks... too bad it doesn't go by whos played the most...

I hate having a non functioning squad leader... so many times I have to go create my own squad because dumbass leader doesn't do anything or listen to you.

I wish you could select squad leader. My friends like to switch positions to whoever lives so we can spawn back on them. But the random people will join and sometimes take over leader. =/

I think the person with most points takes over the squad if the leader bails.
