help remapping keys

i want to remap some keys
but they are locked in common controls
but WHICH common controls do I edit?
found at least 4 of them

Use the in-game ones.

The version 1.01 and 1.02 patch fixed most of the key binding limitations. You can download the 1.02 patch on the Battlefield 2 Downloads page:

Just look for the Battlefield 2 v 1.02 section and click on the download site of your choice.

Some keys still cannot be reassigned. The following keys and buttons have either limited or no capacity to be bound to a Battlefield 2 command:

Keys and Buttons - Capacity to be Assigned
Keyboard Number 8 - Cannot be Assigned.
Keyboard Number 4 - Cannot be Assigned.
Keyboard Number 6 - Cannot be Assigned.
Tab Key - Cannot be Assigned.
Home Key - Cannot be Assigned.
F1-F8 Keys - Usuable only if removed from Land controls.
F9-F12 Keys - Cannot be Assigned.
Mouse Axes and Scroll - Cannot be Assigned.
