Ranks and weapons unlock (how is it supposed to work?) Details please?

I just wanted to know what steps I should take once they fix the weapons unlock bug. I just made Lance Corporal which means I get one weapon unlock. Can anyone tell me the steps I have to take to get my first unlock? I see on the BFHQ that the unlock weapons all show the unlocked padlock, but I cant click on anything. Is it supposed to ask ME? Im confused. DETAIL (info for dumb people) would be great.

When I got my 1st unlock I had to close and restart the game in order to actually unlock it...and don't be freaked out if it takes a day or so before you can do it.....

Once your in and can do it, the game will pretty much spell out how to do so...you'll be able to unlock one of the padlocked guns...

Ok thanks, now when I closed out and got back in it said "you are now lance corporal congratulations you can now take command over lower ranked" something like that but I didnt see an option for chosing a weapon. Is that cuase of the broke unlocks? Why does it show an open padlock on all classes? is that cuase its broke too?
