Cyanide, it looks like YOU need to READ the posts. I posted exactly what you asked for, and explained it very well. And this game is memory intensive, but NOT on the graphics cards. The 6600GT has 128MB of video RAM, and it out preforms the 9800XT (256mb 9800) in all tests. I explained this above, again please READ.
Also, if you think I'm some sort of "fan boy" consider this. I have ATI in BOTH of my gaming computers, and if I needed upgrade the video card, I would go with a 6600GT in a heartbeat. Best mid-level card out there right now.

c'mon, leave him alone. it's either a bot (coded to be a pain in the ass) or a 5Y kid. he even messes up system ram and video ram. he's doing it on a purpose.Originally posted by KingOfKhaosCyanide, it looks like YOU need to READ the posts

Hahahaha. Dude I'd stop now. You're making yourself look sillier by the minute. I had a 9800 PRO before I bought the 6800 GT I couldn't give a **** who makes them or which card I own. I buy the card that gives me the best bang for the buck at the time. That's exactly why I bought the 9800 PRO 18 months ago, so you can stop with the stupid veiled fanboy abuse right now.
Doubling your RAM will give you a benefit sure but only if you couple it with improvements all round such as increasing the number of pipelines, the clock speeds, the number of vertex and pixel shader etc. You can only do this by buying a superior card wheter it be Ati or Nvidia. Going from a 9800 128MB to a 9800 256MB might and I do say MIGHT give you a small increase in performance. Worth it? No. Noticable without benchmarking it? Maybe not.
What you want it seems is for everyone to nod their head and agree with you or say exactly what you want them to say. What do you want? People to say that you did the right thing and game will run smooth as silk and all your stuttering will be gone and you can run with 4xAA and you may even be able to turn more settings up? You would have been much better getting a 6600GT and that's not because I liek Nvidia it's because that's the best bang for your buck at the moment. Anybody will tell you that.

So this kid bought a video card...THEN he went on here and asked for advice, and then he calls everyone retarded when he finds out how dumb his decision was? Is that about right?

if you despise Nvidia and want to stay with ATI, go with the X700, it is a great card that won't empty your walleta! $199.00
I is a littel step down from the X800 or X850 but is a beast of a GPU!

I find on my 6800GT it lags with AA on.Originally posted by Ogrt48That video card still isn't going to be much different at all. 4x aa probably will lag you to much, aa doesn't really depend on the gpu's ram.
How can i sort this out ? what other things can i try..
