ok I guess I should post here,
I have read the battlefield recorder guide but have become confused,
I have 3 questions

I recorded my footage and it saved in
My docs / battlefield 2 / mods

1.Now I need to know the next steps so I can watch my footage ???

2.Also if I want to edit my footage what programme do use reccommend ???

3.Also should I use fraps or not ???

1. The recorded demos are not created in My docs / battlefield 2 / mods, Single player demos are created in this C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Demos

2. To be able to play these back inside BF2 you need to move the files from the above folder to this path C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\demos

Personally I think fraps is the best program to record your bits. Most people use Windows movie maker (on every version of windows XP) or Adobe premier. My person preference is Adobe Premier Pro 1.5

recording with Fraps will lag you alot when in battle
and lag makes you die in battle
I have upped from 2.66 to 3Ghz. it made little difference
so i dont really see whats great about recording Fraps

i just hope EA fix their whack ass BF recorder

We are talking about using fraps in battlerecorder not when you are playing the game, so there is no chance you get lag. Money Fist have you been running round in the game with fraps running? :laugh: No wonder you are lagging owning a 9200.

Fraps is the best you can get, the Battlerecorder AVI converter is rubbish and tell me any other program that gives you as many options like fraps does? full/half screen, any FPS recording from 20-60 and so easy to use even a monkey could use it.

The August patch will address many issues, my guess is taht the BF Recorder will be one of them (since so many people were looking forward to it, and were disappointed).

Any program that records will obviously swallow up some system resources, If you dont use fraps what would you use to capture? You cant record for free, in system resource terms.

No but FRAPs compared to the built-in recorder. FRAPS is frame-by-frame. Built-in records the server events and allows you to replay not only what you say, but other places as well.

you just arnt getting what were talking about. To make movie you need to capture the image to get it into a format that you can use. The battlerecorder will record it but it is in a format that you cant make a movie with. You need to capture from the demo, so you use fraps.

Isn't there a compiler that compiles the demo sequences into AVI's for you? I remember reading something about that :-/

Actually Merlin ur wrong m8.... the bf recorder itself does have functionality that can render ur recordings straight to AVI.

No FRAPS required.
