Banned from Ranked Servers?

Hi all,

Im having trouble connecting to any ranked servers lately. After choosing the server and waiting for the level to load and client data to be verified, it bombs back out to the server browser displaying an error about ranked servers only supporting official content and to make sure my version matches that of the server.

I thought this could be due to the fact that I had edited the unlocks.py file to use the unlocked wepaons in single player, so I reverted back to the original file but I still cant connect to any ranked servers [also, I think I have played on a ranked server even when using the edited unlocks.py file]

HELP PLEASE!!!

I'd really like to play on a ranked server. I've reinstalled the game to no effect.

u have hotfix 1.02? are you using any hacks?

When you removed the game did you delete the BF2 folders both in My Documents and program files? content will still be their.

Doh.. yeah, didnt remove the data from MY Docs and Prog files, maybe that'll work.

Did install patch 1.02, but after reading about the problems I left it out after a reinstall.
Not using any hacks [big screw you to all cheaters > ], but did edit the unlocks.py file so I could 'try before you buy' the unlockable weapons.

you need to just clean out your cache folder and make sure you update punkbuster manually before playing, i had the same problem.

Ah hah, just realised that the 1.02 hotfix is a different thing to what I installed [how did I miss the news of that release??], so that'll prob fix my problems.
