I wish I could Anthony, but I've got the same problem. I've uninstalled/reinstalled then patched and same thing. I've updated both sound and audio drivers - nothing. I can tell you 480MB of ram is way low, most people say you need at least 1.5Gig for optimal performance.

I believe this is his Vid Card - and if so - there-in lies your problem...

Most current games are only developed for support with nVidia and ATI cards. He may be referring to a system with SiS board that includes their integrated Video....

What kind of video card - specifically - are you running ?

Uninstall then reistall your gfx card drivers. Thats what I did and it work fine. If you have a Nvidia card use Detonator Destroyer after uninstalling to ensure all the crap is removed before reinstalling.

From the sound of your spec Eg 480MB Ram it sounds like you have a integrated gfx card, if it is the game wont work as it needs a decent DX9 gfx card.

If you look in your BF2 "readme" file you will see that

                              a) not enough RAM
                              b) I believe that you need to be running DirectX 9.0c note "c"
                              c) there may be other issues with your rig.
If the bf2 game program detects that you are running under the minimum specs, or unsupported hardware, then it will, not start, crash.
