    Birth of an exploiter?

I just thought that this was a little humorous and that I should share it:

I'm in a squad last night, playing on the shar-qe peninsula map, or whatever it's called. The squad leader, using voip, decides that right from the get-go we are going to take the T.V. station and hold it for as long as we can. And, we do. We get to the station and there's no opposition there, so we cap the flag and then set up guard positions at the balcony and at the rear stair case. I, along withthe squad leader who is playing as support and another member playing medic (I'm medic as well) take the stairs. The support guy and the other medic go prone at the top of the first flight of stairs with their guns trained on the entrance below.

Some time goes by and all of the sudden a squad of about four USMC (we're playing MEC) dart into the entrance and try to make it up the stairs. My squad takes out three of them and the other one jumps back out of the entrance and goes for cover behind the wall. After a couple of seconds, the USMC soldier jumps back into the entrance, sprays a few bullets, trying to hit us and jumps back out. He manages a couple of hits, but no kills. So, the other medic on my squad lobs a grenade down in the entrance way, but the USMC soldier has moved far enough away that it has no effect. After a second or two, the USMC guy jumps back in and tries to shoot at us with a short burst again. Again no kills, and after he darts back out, again the medic lobs another grenade. This happens once or twice more. Then, I suppose the medic figures that he should just constantly lob grenades down there, hoping the USMC guy will try to run in between them, miss-time it and get hit. So, the medic begins just firing a grenade, waiting a moment or two, then firing another, and so on.

Of course, as he is doing this, the squad-leader, playing support, begins throwing ammo bags at the medic in order to keep his grenade supply topped-up.

Then I hear it come over VOIP from the squad leader:

"Oh my God, dude! I'm getting a ton of resupply points doing this, it's stupid! Lets just keep doing this!"

Which they did, for about the next 10 minutes or so.

Did I witness the birth of an exploiter?

Good thing he figured it out hehe. This has been a known explot for a while. Patch notes for 1.03 say it will be addressed in the patch.

Well hes giving the guy ammo that he needs, its not like their in a corner giving ammo for no reason so I dont think this is wrong, its keeping the guy out of the base.

it was for a reason, but when the guy said,
'oh my god, dude! im getting a ton of resupply points doing this, its stupid! lets just keep doing this!'
it became padding. did they keep doing it? why would the medic play along, he gets nothing.

I think the real question here is: Did he kill the USMC soldier or not? :P

The USMC soldier probably threw a grenade up and killed everybody.

Well, I could hear the squad leader, who was playing support, on VOIP, and it seemed, at times, that he was answering verbal communications from the medic, but I couldn't hear the medic on VOIP. I got the impression that the medic was using teamspeak or something to talk and the squad leader was answering him on the ingame VOIP. So, if that was the case, it could have been that they were friends.

The next map was Operation Cleansweep and the two of them grabbed the attack chopper for the whole map. During that time I heard a conversation that went something like this:

SL: "Yeah work sucks. What does he have you doing?"

                          (no response)

SL: "Yeah that manual labour stuff is a drag. But if you know what you're doing, it's easy as hell."

                          (no response)

SL: "Oh yeah? What time do you start that?"

No, nobody managed to tag that last USMC guy. I think after a few nades he probably realized it was pointless and moved out of the area.. or possibly somebody else tagged him from outside. But, the two of them continued to sit there for about ten minutes or so just lobbing grenades and resupplying.
