Of all the things he could have done, this was probably the best thing.
For once, it's easily recoverable: even if EA didn't have backups, they just needed to lock everybody's weapons then grant them new unlocks based on their XP.
And, on the other hand, this gives EA enough notice for them to fix the exploit asap.
Just think about it: depending on the severity of the exploit, maybe, instead of granting weapon unlocks, he could have changed some other stat data that would require some major rollback or some reset. Or he could have started doing it randomly and it would be a bit more difficult to recover. He could have documented the bug and spread the word "underground". He could have started selling weapon unlocks on ebay or just unlocking his and his friends'/clan weapons. He could have done a lot more stuff that would be real damage.
All of you pissing on him or on his post are missing the point. Of all the bad stuff that could have happened and WOULD have happened with such a big exploit, his was by far the best and most secure outcome, for both EA and EA's customers. Yeah, it doesn't look good on EA's side, but most players have short memory span so it doesn't matter that much.
And hey, it also gave us an option to test some of our probable unlocks. ****, what a bad gun the unlockable anti-talk one is. :) I'm glad i tested it, it was going to be my next unlock.Comment

The other thing I wanted to say is that these are just people. They'd love to fullfil everyones expectations but they just can't because it's impossible. I mean look at DC everyone complained and moaned about nerfs....but the mod was classic all the way and free to boot and most people would agree it was a killer piece of software. However a small vocal minority always ruins things.
Enjoy the game and be happy that your getting something this good! If you don't like the game don't play it!
I'd be ashmed to write the things that have been said in this forum. Don't trample on peoples hard work. Appreciate things and provide constructive critcism. Don't moan and ***** because you have no other life outside of a computer
If you were a real geek you'd know how hard it really is and you'd support them in doing their job.Comment

Oh my.... my apologies for pissin' in your cereal bowl......Originally posted by RoderickYou obviously have no clue what I am talking about. Guess you bought the game a day or two ago. So you are forgiven.
They were not defending a flag, but instead finding a spot in the middle of the map to hunker down in. No attempt to move out or drive out to a new waypoint or anything. Some were commenting over sayall if they knew how to play the game, but a majority of them were too into having all the weapons unlocked and playing an instagib game versus trying to go out and win the map, by controlling waypoint flags. There is a difference between defending a flag from an incoming forces versus hunkering down and not attempting to move anywhere.
#1) Sarcasm
#2) your statement "waypoint FLAG" threw me off, thought you meant the FLAG where everyone was hanging out..... My mistake your error .... Of course since we base intelligence of the the period of time you own the game... you sir are forgiven also........ and remember.. have a very happy day...

Agreed....Originally posted by IHateYouAre you agreeing or disagreeing with me?
The guy I called retarded was yelling about the hacker that unlocked the weapons doing it for scores and stats, and making him out to be some sort of weasel cheater.
