Points!?

Sorry if this is already posted somewhere, but the search didn't show me anything useful...

is global points calculated with combat + teamwork + command = global?

if so, anyone else having a problem that has their points add up to several thousand higher than your global score?

if not, how is global calculated? i should have 12k but barely have 10500 instead

I never noticed this, but thats kind of messed up!

as far as my score goes...
Total = 13815
Combat = 9678
Team = 3911
Commander = 1322

Simple math shows that Combat+Teamwork = 13589
which leaves me with a difference of 226???

1) what the hell are commander points good for?
2) where the hell did I get an extra 226 points from? style points?

It is probably slow on updating all of your scores, and commander points I'm guessing have something to do with the 1st Sergeant/Master Gunnery Sergeant thing...

I dont think it has to do with any speed updating issue, since if it was a simple combat+team=global then global would be instantly updated with the updating of combat/team.

And as far as the phar site shows, 1sergeant,sgt major are granted by having the basic badges for each kit/vechicle etc. So it doesn't look like commander points/hrs have anything to do with rank.

I think tks get taken away from your team score during a round (ie the little flag symbol goes from 0 to -4 with a tk) So i think negative scores are reflected in your overall teamscore.

A good idea would be to lower the rank achievent points and add other ranks such as officers. To get your commission to officer, you have to get a certain amount of commander points? I don't know, I'm just rambling 'cuz it's late. :)

Well your rambling good information.

We already know there is a 2nd lieutenant symbol for ingame created (dont remember thread but its there somewhere)

So obviously EA thought about adding maybe a wartime commision officer rank or something.

It would seem best to do things that way, cause its not like people playing BF2 are relying on all things to be realistic, especially when they obviously arn't, so having colonel's running around with grunts isn't really that big a deal, and it will give a larger sense of accomplishment with more ranks, instead of the large grind it seems like now just getting from cpl to sergeant!
