I need help please anyone help....

I been doing some reading and couln't find much. I am not a computer expert just like to play games. My problem is i bought bf2 and it sort of works. my problem is at when i click like single player join game at the bottom right. it loads a photo of the map like 3 secs and then sends me back to the join game screen. and then my comp usually freezes. anyone have any idea.
my computer specs are:
1.8ghz,256mb ram,Dir X 9.0c, Processor=AMD athlon (tm) processor, mmx, 3d now (i have no idea what that means the processor stuff) radeon 9200 series and 128 mb. got this from typing in dxdiag. do you think i need to upgrade to 1 gig of ram. cause i got no idea so if anyone could help me please do. i don't want to waste $50 for nothing.

Is your 9200 PCI or AGP?

Don't even THINK about playing this game with that configuration. Radeon 9200 is way too slow now and 256MB RAM for BF2 is a joke!
Get yourself at least Radeon 9700 PRO 128MB and 1GB RAM, then you can play.
