    Global Hours?

This may be a dumb question (I just got the game), but I was looking at the medals and stuff, and for some you need like 3000 Global Hours in an Airplane. Does this actually mean spending 3000 hours of your LIFE in an airplane? If so, who the HELL would do that?

Meh, that makes it really really really cool when/if you ever get one.

Other than the Gold/Silver/Bronze/Purple Heart Medals, all the rest of them take at least a few thousand hours doing a certain something. Medals are to reward those who spend an excessive amount of game time doing a certain task.

Gaining a unqiue medal is a great way to show that you are good at something. Nothing like an Helicopter/Air Combat Medal to prove your worth as a good pilot, or a Sharpshooter Infantry Medal to show how adept you are at all the hard BF2 skills.

Unlike ribbons and basic medals, these are not things you can get by playing a few games, but require gaming over an extended period of time, sort of like ranks.

Lets worry about getting the job done first. What good is icing without a cake?

IRT Varsol, well damn good icing if its shitty cake!

Yes the medals take some time. Say you play 10hrs a week, 35 hours a month. 35*10 = 3500, a majority in airplane = the medal.

The game was built to take months to get things properly. Most people at the top are stat-whoring which will be stopped in the next patch coming at the end of August.

I think you mean that if you play 10 hours a week its gonna take 6 years to get the medal?

It's fun while you play it. But when I'm 85 and I'm about to die... i'm gonna look back and say "Damn.. I should've spent more time getting laid rather than playing bF2" hahah.... kidding... BF2 > sex.... kidding again

You'll be lucky to get 1 or 2 medals if you just play BF2 a couple hours a day. Like badges, you'll probably need to specialize using a kit because you need a specific amount of 'global time' used per kit.

And this is why we don't drop out of school.

35x10 is 350, not 3500! So according to your wisdom, we only need to play ONE HUNDRED months to achieve one of those medals.

                    That's 8.3 years folks...

By the time you have all the medals, there would be like a battlefield 4. :/

You know, this might go the way of MMORPGs where people trade accts for cash. Ebay will have a bf2 acct for sale with VERY RARE* navy cross etc etc....

                            35x10 = 3500 lol, i worry about our nation's future

Yeah, the veteran/expert badges and medals are a little bit optimistic on EA's part. I mean...200 global hours in a TOW? Like I have nothing better to do...200 hours...that's 8.3 days worth of sitting in a TOW. Sounds like a fun week(and then some)

What EA should do is reset the stats but change the hours down to something more reasonable.
