What system were you running in 1942?...lol

I use the keyboard/mouse combo all the time, but to each there own, we all have a different way to get from point “A” to point “B”, as long as you get there, it’s all good.

Now stop reading this forum & get out there and fight..

i have tried a stick and its ok in a plane and heli i suppose but for the heli it kinda gets annoying...

i prefer only using the keyboard for planes and helis jus arrows and wasd to control with space bar to fire etc etc i find i get much better control over everything and in a heli i can blow the crap outta anything...

altho i have been practicing on the keyboard since BF vietnam

Chopperkiller how do you set up bf2 for a xbox controller?
I have the kit and all and the xbcd driver , but I cant get bf2 to recognize some of the movents on the joystick, it just puts left and right down as the same axis

        any ideas m8?

I've had the same old microsoft sidewinder joystick for the past... 7 years almost and I love the thing. It's old enough that it needs a Serial to USB converter.

Plus, all those hours playing Flight Simulator really helps...

I find if you use the joystick for the heli, you can pull of some pretty crazy maneouvers. You can do really tight turns and evasive maeouvers. Im still all for the joystick. The way I look at it, is if keyboard controls could be used to fly a real chopper more efficiently, it would have been done, but they still use a stick. Pilots tend to be kind of stupid, so we need to make things easy for them and the stick is the easiest.

Another point for the joystick is that all the controls and buttons are ergonmically located right near your hand. Its a more intuitive control.

But hey, if you prefer to use the kb or you are just to cheap/poor to buy a stick, go for it. Its all about whats best for you.

Hey Guys, I know this might be a question where you gonna kill me, but I can't hit a target with bombs for nothing !!! I'm trying to get my AERIAL SERVICE RIBBON. Well the highest I accomplished so far in a plane was like 10 Kills in 30 Minutes. Who can give me a little BOMBING GUIDE here fellas. Help a fellow CPL, BROTHER IN ARMS and BATTLEBUDDY.

I truely don't understand why they designed the game to make planes anti mouse. The helos work great under the mouse and keyboard but unless you have a joystick for the planes, you are screwed turning.

Ever have a situation where someone on your side begs for someone to get into the air since an enemy plane is bombing your forces to high heaven? No one will unless they have a joystick for the plane or else the enemy plane will blow them out of the sky due to maneuverability problems.

I hope they address this in an upcoming patch. Planes should not favor joysticks only.

work on jacking up the sensitivity of your mouse, turning wont be an issue then.
