It's a common belief during the dogfights that the aircraft with the fastest speed (Max speed + Afterburner) for a long time will become the victor because of fast manuevers and agility. However on rare occasions I would face a pilot who would do something else that would break this belief. He would slow down his aircraft and make a quick tight turn and quickly gain back speed hence outmanevering me and easily being on my tail. I have attempted trying to do this manuever but failed as my plane would become sluggish hence would take a long time to achieve a tight turn and would not accelerate quickly hence losing the target. I used a keyboard/mouse to test this manuever, and I suspect the pilot achieved this manuever by using the joystick and setting the trottle to 50%-75% in order to slow down, maintain a constant speed, and accelerate quickly (100%). I do have joystick, but it's with my computer which is in Korea, i'm using my mother's computer in California to play BF2 right now.
Any more info of this manuever and how to achieve it with the keyboard & mouse and joystick?
