What CPU cooling do you use?

I didn't know where to post that so I put it here.

I run a P4 3.2Ghz Prescot and I want to buy a cup cooling FAN. I have in mind:

    - Artic Cooling Freezer 4
    - Zalman 7700a-cu

My main concern other than cooling down the CPU is it has to be quiet. What do you use? Is it very quiet (when you play BF2 )?

the zalman 7700 is what i got on my FX55 and its oced and never goes above 47 degrees celcius on full load. i would go with that, ive been a fan of zalman for a while. They are pretty quiet and great cooling.

Well your FX55 runs a helluva lot cooler then any P4 to start out with, so that in-and-of itself will take care of that. In all honesty, I haven't found a cooler that does more then the stock cooler. I swapped my stock cooler for an ArticCooling Freezer7. Well atleast I don't go above 60*C anymore (btw, 3.4Ghz PrescHOTT). I will never buy Pentium again.

        Got3n,

What do you mean by quiet? I mean compare to the stock one or is it anoying (loud)?

        KingOC,

If it stay above 60C it's ok, but how loud is it?

Quiet as in 120MM fan on full blast and you can barley hear it. I would say it was alot quieter than my stock HSF that came with the processor.

my Dragon Orb 3 is loud as a motherfisker... but it does work well... replaceing it with a new board and chip with a nice big quiet Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu

I see you have a P4 but for me.....

As in my sys specs "air cool" for now a "Thermaltake Silent Boost K7 AMD XP Cooler"

But i just got a Swifteck STORM Extreme Performance Universal CPU water-block will be fitting water cool in the near future.

IF i thought it was necessary, could account for the affordability and was permanently living on the equator i would buy a "Phase changer"
