For Attack Copters..Keyboard and mouse or Joystick

I enjoy flying attack choppers and my roommate came up with this heavy duty wingman force joystick. I was really excited but when i tried to fly the chopper, i didnt have the same control. I feel that the mouse gives me more control.

But alas i have read enough people on these forums that swear by joysticks being better. I agree that i seem to fly planes better but not choppers.

Anyone out there try both and prefer the mouse. Im interested to see how many people tried the joystick and went back to the keyboard and mouse setup.

Keyboard for throttle and rudder, Joystick for flying.

Works great, excellent control. Saying that I gunned for a guy online and he said he was flying with the mouse and keyboard and he was pretty good.

We can all learn to be good with one or the other, but the Joystick is more intuitive for me. I grew up with Microsoft Flight Simulator as my primary PC game, and now that I've discovered FPS, my joystick has been itching for use. I cannot fly for sh*t with a mouse and keyboard, but I have gunned with expert pilots who use them. Like I said, it's all a matter of personal preferance.

I can stop a helo dead and rotate it on it's axis and any other possible manouvre with my Logitech Wingman stick... As a previous poster has mentioned, it's a matter of personal preference. I just happen to have used a joystick for maybe 15 years or so...

Saitek X52 here, since I got it 2 days ago I improved. I had a Cyborg Evo before and I had not the same control of helis. The throttle really rocks !!

Alot of people seem to say that throttle on joysticks really "works wonders" . Yeah I tap on w and s on the keyboard but its control is much more precise IMO

Any expert (Super EXPERT) pilots out there have any input. Why a joystick or keyboard is better.

I can't stand using a mouse, I simply use my good old keyboard for choppers, I don't even bother with a joystick or mouse.

i use mouse/keyboard for helicopters and joystick for planes (i don't have a joystick, so i don't fly planes)... its really a matter of personal preference... and im a good helo pilot too, on 16 player servers i can rack up 30 kills before the tickets poof... and thats as the pilot with no gunner

                              K/m is better.
