I have the top 3 options on High and the rest Medium and AAx2.

I really want texture on high but some maps make me lag, is there anything i can do to get them up there?

I have turned the top 3 down to med and put textures on high but that still lags me. pls pls pls pls pls pls help?

Don't think you'll be runnin smooth with high textures on that rig unless u take off AA or make some other decent sacrifices.

There's not a lot of visual diff between med and high textures anyway and when ur fightin u don't look at objects and say "wow look at the splinters on that fence".

Leave it at med and enjoy higher fps.

IMHO your 1GB of ram is ample for the game and will not solve your card issues.
Extra ram will help the game though overall if you decide to get some more.

Just as Mo-Fo says "Don't think you'll be running smooth with high textures on that rig"
The 9800 card Oc'ed at those speeds will be running well hot even water cooled, as you probably know heat is the vid cards worst enemy causing anomalies freezing etc.

Most that i have seen in this forum are either having problems getting there 9800 to run at all with BF2 or running BF2 at mid range. So i would say you are lucky running yours at those specs for BF2.

I had a 9800 pro running around those speeds for Nova's Joint Ops (for around 2 years) and air cooled.
When it came to running BF2 i had to turn down the speeds to default because of the heat and anomalies showing for BF2, and as the card was now past it's sell by date decided to get a X850xt pe i now have a stable card running the game settings all on high but using old drivers till ati brings the new ones out for this game!

Hope this is not as clear as mud for you! :)

Your settings are way too high for that rig, for optimal FPS, keep Geometry, and Effects on High, and the rest on Low.

High textures is very stressful for a GPU to run, I have all on low on my self build purely to keep the frame rates nice and high
