Why so few servers?

I got the game to run fine and everything. Problem. Why are there so few freaking servers to choose from?! Trying to find ranked servers to play on, fugitaboutit! I can refresh my servers list a hundred times and diddley squat shows up. I paid seventy bucks for this horsecrap? EA should have a class action lawsuit launched against them. Joint Operations is way better. They should realize eye candy isn't everything. This is not what people expect from a game so overly hyped as this one.

EA are just a bunch of wallet rapists.

That's my rant for today.

I have the update already, I put it on when I first installed the game last week. Thanks for the attempt anyway. Quick question though, Do I need the server patch as well?

No you dont, how many servers are you seeing when you update your listing??

Maybe six or seven at the most. How long should I have to wait for it to refresh? It seems like it takes forever. Hey! I'm old and don't have much time to waste. LOL

in fact, imho, too many
as there is now a rule you cannot pay until there are 10 that have joined, MANY severs sit idle up to an hour!!!

check your filter settings

I cleared all the filters except pbuster, it showed about 20. Only three of them are ranked servers and they're full. I thought there would be a lot more than that. This is becoming very disappointing.

You obviously have the wrong version installed. What are your exact filters? I turn on not full, not empty, not passworded, medium maps only, ranked only, punkbuster and same version only, and I still get about 600 servers.

Yeah hundreds and thousands, all with 450+ ping.

Have you opened your ports on your firewall.

Yes I have, all the default ports on the game manual plus ones I've seen posted here. I will not leave any ports open below 1024, that is not an option IMO.

Ok. This is what I have to do. Normally I get exactly what you get, just a few <100, and tons that ping like 250.

When it starts updating, press Stop Update, enter 70 (or whatever) in the ping filter textbox, hit enter. You should now see a LOT more low ping servers coming up.

If you have norton installed, chances are thats your problem. Turn it off or something. Worked for me.

Got Norton 2005 now, which luckily isn't such a ***** about it.
