Well in all honest, I would get the 6800GT. Why? #1 the frame rates will be much better, all you have to do is wait, either Nvidia, or EA will release an update that will cure this problem. The 1.03 update will have tons of fixes that will supposedly make the game run 100% better.

The bottlenecking is also another issue. I'm guessing, yes, if i got the 6800GT, it would bottleneck my current system? (specs couple posts above)

How much is performance decreased when your system is bottlenecked?

Most likely yes your system would bottlenect @ the CPU. I would need to know your socket type on the motherboard to tell you how to go about ridding your system of it. I will guess its 476, in which case you'd need to get a new mobo, and CPU. I'm not sure though.

It would still help you with FPS though.

Gahh, how severe does the performance of the card slow down when its bottlenecked? Would i only get around half the potential of the card?

Well if i got a 6800 and unlocked the 4 extra pipelines and the 1 extra vertex shader, would it bottleneck my system? My specs are:

P4 2.0 GHz
1GB 3200 RAM
and the 6800

Overclocking your card wouldn't bottleneck your computer, your video card is already bottlenecked by your CPU.

if u ever do want to unlock those pipes and vertex shaders, dl rivatuner. u can oc with it too.

Yeah, thats what i was planning on using. I hear its real easy, and there are hardly any problems.

I've also been reading up on the x800pro. But all ATI cards experience texture corruption when you play for long periods of time. Seems like i'll run into problems no matter which video card i buy.
