My experience with BF2 so far

I recently purchased a new motherboard, cpu, memory, and video card in order to get ready for a big 1000 person LAN in Portland, Oregon (PDXLAN) and mostly enjoy Battlefield 2. Here are my specs:

    FoxConn NF4K8MC-ERS MicroATX nForce4 Socket 939 Motherboard
AMD 64 3500+ venice Core CPU
    Corsair TwinX2048 PC3200-C2 2GB Memory Kit (running 2.5-3-3-6 1T timings)
    BFG OC 6800GT 256MB PCI-Express video Card
    Antec NeoPower 480W PSU
Western Digital 160GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache IDE Hard Drive

    Drivers:
I have the newest nForce4 drivers installed
I am using the Tweaks-R-us 77.62-HDType3 GeForce drivers

I turned everything to the lowest setting possible in graphics and made sound Software/Low. From there I changed each setting one by one to high to
see how it would affect the FPS and the overall feel of the gameplay. In my GeForce Driver's control panel, I found that putting the Image Settings on 'quality' had little to no FPS effect compared to high performance.. Also my AA/AF/Vsync are all Off.

Here are my BF2 settings. EDIT: I AM USING 1024 x 768 resolution

High: Textures, Terrain, Effects, Lighting, Texture Filtering
    Low: Geometry
Off: Dynamic Shadows, Dynamic Light, (and AA)

The settings that made the biggest fps differences are:

    1. Dynamic Shadows (Anytime in a Shadowed area my fps dropped from 90s to high 70s)
    2. Geometry (The overall gameplay felt more sluggish, fps averaged 75 fps from roaming around being mid 80s to action being high 60s and mid 70s)
    3. Dynamic Light (It seemed to be fine 80% of the time but in action it would drop more to the 60s)

I hope this helps somebody with their tweaking troubles or if someone reads this and has a suggestion for me of something to change to get a performance boost, that would be great as well!

you can overclock your video card and run everything on high with 90fps
i overclocked my 6800GT to ULTRA and it runs like hell lol
the problem in that is the video card become more hot
but you can by different fan for video card and install some external fans, they are cheap
