you know this expansion pack thats comeing out is it going to be ranked aswell and can i carry over my old stats from bf2 or do i have to start again becouse if i have to start again im not getting it.

From EA's announcement (emphasis added):

Additionally, persistent character growth allows players to continue to rise through the ranks.

So it certainly appears that you won't have to start all over with the stats.

And I hope nobody buys the expansion pack, either. I'm pretty irritated that they announced the pack so soon after they released the first game; it makes it seem like they deliberately cut back the stuff they could have done in BF2 just so they would have an excuse to squeeze some more blood out of us with an expansion pack. I'd like to think that I'm too cynical to be disappointed by anything anymore, but apparently that isn't the case.

That's more than likely. My guess is they want to milk everyone for some extra money and they are doing this expansion to try to get that money before any good mods are released and they lose people to those.

It's just a business decision for them to make more money by holding a little back and then coming out with an expansion pack, obviously. They gotta make some money, this is a business after all and I don't blame them. I will definitely buy the expansion pack! I don't mind at all paying the people who come out with such great games. If they didnt make any $$$ then they would quit making games, that would suck.

I think its too early to be working on the expansion pack, i think that they should be concentrating on getting BF2 up to scratch before they start on nething else as there are still alot of parts that need to be fixed with the original...
