Here is a Counter-Strike movie that shows what bunnyhopping is and how it is used.

As you can see, he's jumping distances you normally wouldn't be able to with regular jumping due to increase in speed.

You can also see segments where he is just doing regular bunnyhopping to move at high rates of speed.

I didn't bother watching the video. But the problem with bunny-hopping (or multiple, repeated jumps) is that it makes the hitbox of the player go all over the place, and almost impossible to get a true headshot.

That's why a severe stamina drain on jumping would solve the problem.

OK, so rapid jumping in Battlefield 2 is slightly more realistic than in CS.

That doesn't mean that the Battlefield 2 equivalent can't be called bunny-hopping.

in BF2 you actualy run out of energy to jump. but in CSS you can jump forever , you can get a hack and just hold the button down

Battlefield 2 is NOT bunnyhopping. It's not even close. It's a very difficult skill to learn that allows you to move way way way faster then the normal intended run speeds.

You cannot bunnyhop in Battlefield 2. It's impossible because the physics engine eliminates it.

I don't know about you, but I've never seen someone move that fast in BF2. If you could bunnyhop, the balance issue would be people travelling on foot to CP's in seconds.

In CS, it was nerfed because people were able to get to the enemy spawn point before half the enemy team had even left. The nerf made it so that the more you jumped, the slower your movement became.

Yep, thats right. It was nerfed so you had like a movement stun effect when you landed after jumping. The more you 'hopped' the more it slowed you down.

It's totaly different in bf2. People try to do it just to avoid being hit. I prefere people to do it so i can blast em in mid-air :evil:

The fact that the same tactic with the same effect was used also in the Quake series makes it not be bunny-hopping. Bunny-hopping is a specific tactic/movement, it's not just repeated jumping. It involved using sidestep, running sideways and turning at a specific speed torwards the sides while holding down the crouch button and jumping.

In BF2, people just mash the jump button.

Personally, I have no problem with people calling it bunny-hopping. I'm just being pedantic. :p

It's just confusing. When I first read about the 'bunnyhopping' in battlefield 2, it seriously concerned me until I figured out it's impossible and people were talking about just random jumping.

So in my mind, it doesn't mean bunnyhopping, it's just jumping.

Misuse of a term dose not neccesarily constitue a change in definition.
Quit flameing someone for trying to educate the uninformed masses. Just beceause some may type "their" instead of "there" dose not change the meaning of "their", it is still incorrect usage regardless of the readers comprehention.

there is bunnyhopping here, i hate it especialy when you turn a corner and run into someone they start jumping all over the place, and before you can do anything, your dead...i like this one time some guy started bunny hopping on one side of those 3 pips stacked, and i crouched, noticed his upper body showed when he jumped, so i waited for another jump, and shot him in the head lol
