yeh ...go spend some more money on this piece of **** game.....save ur money and buy an Xbox or PS2....PC gaming will be for fools that feel the need to make software developers rich at the customers expense....not to mention the fustration of buying a game that u have to a computer scientist to get to run...F that!

For anyone else still having the crash to desktop problem are you using an external hard drive? I have one and thats were i dl'd the game to and that happened. Then i dl'd to the comps hard drive and it worked. Just askin it could be ur solution.

I experienced this problem and reformatting my harddrive fixed that, and that alone, issue.

I'm thinking it has something to do with ATI cards

                  amd 3000
                  MSI mb

Usually this problem has something to do with hardware. Make sure all your hardware is compatible.

The problem could be solve, I installed the Omega Catalyst Drivers and got rid of the problem, some people even say closing XFire makes a difference. Strange how the demo worked though...

I'm running from a different drive, not the default install location. But it doesn't seem to be a problem with this patch as it was with the first one. I still ran the patch from the command line to be sure. Didn't make a difference. I'll try the Catalyst drivers mentioned above and see if that helps.

Well, I've updated both my sound and video drivers to the latest. I do not have the ASUS model MB that is mentioned in some of these posts (although it is an ASUS). and still have the CTD a few seconds after the splash screen.
I've sent in a support request (alot of good that'll do), other than that...I guess I lose.

It actually sickens me that such poor support is provided for this brand new game, imagine how many people have the same problem as myself?

Can someone PLEASE help me out, this is ridiculous. My specs are as follows:

                          AMD 64Bit 3200+ 939
                          ATI X800XT Platinum Edition 256mb

                          Windows XP Professional with SP2
