My FIX for insane memory.dll problems! My story.

I was having insane memory size errors.
I always installed the patch over whatever I already had installed.
    It never worked.

Soooo Here's what I did, and I've been playing for two days with no CTD's or insane memory problems or messed up textures.

    1) I shut off fraps.
    2) shut down pc-cillin virus scanning.
    3) set page file to system managed.
    4) uninstall bf2
    5) re-install bf2. Click on on mic setting not cancel. Use default video settings. Remove all cache directories under Documents & settings\bf2.
    6) apply 1.02
    7) Play. No crashes.

Since then, I have re-enabled virus scanning and changed video settings
and all continues to be fine. (knock on c4)

So by reinstalling and applying 1.02, your game was fixed?

<sarcasm>Looks like my post was irrelevant then.</sarcasm>

      I did

Well, Actually I did re-install, about 6 times.
BTW, Thank you. And Thanks to all the others here who try to help out
      those having game issues.
It's very frustrating when a program you paid $50 for get about as much use a rock in my yard.

So, back to the fix... Yes, I've read, (from you probably), that I should uninstall and re-install. Remove cache. Change swap. Yes I've done it numerous times and sometimes at 3am in the morning after 3 hours of trying.

This time, I went extreme on its A**

I removed all programs which might interfere with the install, shut down all programs which might interfere with the running and mostly just excepted the defaults. BAM! It worked. Boy was I surprised. I spent the next night playing from 10pm to 3pm. :)

I have a feeling that the next patch may give grief, so I'll be repeating the same procedure again.

Note: I didn't remove my player profile, just the cache files.
