Obviously, you don't close to 3 meters, nor do you let them close to three meters.

If you get surprised, it doesn't matter what gun they use, if they're good.

We've all seen warmovies, atleast blackhawk down, follow that example instead of trying to save yourself from one death by bunnyhopping, and destroying the game for oh so many. thnx

I got a secret for you. Respect and realistic are mutually exclusive.

If it were "real", it'd be me or you dying. My friend, I'd use every weapon I had to make sure you were the dead one, not me. Respect would be wasted on you, as you're soon to just be assorted viscera scattered about the landscape. The only respect for you would be your ability to kill me if I didn't kill you first.

Where is the respect when you eat artillery? Where is the respect when the bombs fall on the infantry? Where is the respect when you get run over by a t-90?

I think the reason that the USMC assaults make more use of the M203 in close-quarters is because not everyone has the reflexes to take down some hopping slobberdonky who is spraying you with automatic fire with the burst or semi settings on the M16. So, they just blow the guy up.

I am of the opinion that it would be better with a much bigger blast radius (and WTF is up with the tank shells? Doesn't anyone keep a few HE shells around anymore?) though, so people can't stand three feet away, plunk one into your chest, and then laugh at you when they don't take any damage. Activation range would be a great reality nod but would end up screwing the assault kit up a good bit IMO, especially with the compressed engagement ranges of the game.

Bunnyhopping is a comonly misused term in BF2.

What it is is a combination of jumping, turning and strafing w/out ever pressing forward to beat the physics code of the game to gain HUGE speed.

It was common inQuake and HL mods. I've tried to bunnyhop in bf2 and it just doesn't seem feasible.

So people really aren't bunnyhopping in BF2, they're just jumping around like morons trying to avoid fire. I love killing the jumpers.

I play assault almost exclusively and I could totally live with an activation time. I mostly use it for killing people that I can't hit with my rifle anyway. Sometimes I will have it out and kill someone at nearly point blank range when they come around a corner but it's not often and I could live with having to switch back to rifle.

I don't see what the problem is... I use assault more than anything else, and yes I use the grenade launcher. If I have a weapon, why wouldn't I use it? Face it, the assault class has the role of killing more people than anyone else. Support provides ammo and cover fire, medic heals/revives, anti tank blows up vehicles, snipers take out infantry from a distance, and assault kills lots of infantry in close quarters. If you get killed by a grenade, get over it... assault is supposed to be the best at killing infantry.

Assault works best when using the rifle in single shot mode to kill from long range and using grenades to kill from short range. I'm not sure why everyone thinks you're supposed to fight with guns all the time... it's like we're expected to go by some honor code or something. Just get good enough with the grenades and you can practically snipe with them... then listen to everyone complain. :)

Its just the fact that some people bought this game because they wanted a sense of realism. And there is NONE. 50% of the USMC weapons don't shoot like they should. **** the LAV can take 3 head on shots from and eryx, where in real life 2-3 burts from a .50cal or 25mm would decimate the thing.

My suggestion: Lower the damage of the grenade launcher so it takes away most but not all the enemy's health away. Then you can whip out the rifle to finish them off.

This would also help stop some ppl from shooting from 3 ft away because the small delay of switching weapons may get themselves killed.

The nade launcher isnt as strong as you guys think. All it is is a close range sniper rifle (one shot kill). I mainly use it for killing hummers and buggys if Im not using the g3.

It kills me every time in 1 shot.
