    This should not happen.

When I'm in a jet and I launch a heatseaker at another jet and he pops his flares, the missile should NOT simply go to the closest heat source (usually and unfortunately a full friendly blackhawk) It's so aggrevating launching a missile and then seeing "Team damage! Don't damage your team mates" pop up. Argh.

DICE, please fix this, even though I know you don't read these forums.

This isn't a mistake. This is a bug. I've gotten kicked out of a server once because I was chasing a jet on Dailan Plant, got a lock, fired two missiles, he swerved a bit and the missiles went straight for a full blackhawk, killing 6 guys and autokicking me from the server. There is obviously a mistake in the coding, heatseakers shouldn't hit friendly units.

Happens to me all the time when I'm manning the stationary air defense missiles.

Guess what real heat-seeking missles do when they miss the original target? Yes, you're right...find the next heat source they come across and fly into it. People complain about realism and then you get complaints about how realism sux.....urgh

I like that feature, as The Medic said it's realistic but there is a problem where two missiles going straight to a hovering helicopter (whitout flares) change of direction on the last second and finds a new target which of course will be a friendly one.

Firing two missiles at a jet going straight, right in front of you, and having them make a 90 degree turn straigt down and hitting a friendly helo on the pad is really frustrating. It is a bug and does need to be fixed.

The most logical thing to do is have the system tell you if you missiles are still tracking something, friend or foe, and a self-destruct button that you can press.

No, the actual bug is that missles start seeking the CLOSEST heat source, instead of following the heat sourse that is least degrees in turning (the flare). I am pretty sure the real missles do the same, but this seems like a code bug to me. On some 64 maps, I often get killed more from friendly missles homing on me than I get killed by hostile missles. They are almost impossible to shake off because you get almost no warning time to fire the flare.

Well it is realistic. You shoot, he shoots flares, it redirects, flare burns out, it finds new heat-source.

Luck of the draw I guess. Either that or you need to learn when to use missles, versus when to use your main guns.

Wouldn't a heat-seeking missle seek out any heat, and go after the closest one? The clue is in the name of the missle...

The bug is that it lets the people in the blackhawk punish you for the heat seakers.

I think if by any means, i repeat, by any means, that happens in real war, I think your team mates will not have the chance to forgive you...

That bug seriously pisses me off. It's so frustrating that it is EASIER to kill a friendly unit than it is to kill an emeny unit. Where the f is the logic in that?

Like before, I was playing on Oilfields.. I'm on the Chinese side and I'm just driving around in the Type 95 AA, I see a plane, get a lock on and fire.. It ofcourse misses, and then hits the heli that was BEHIND me and kills them, I get punished twice.

It really needs to be fixed.. How could they not find this pos bug in testing is beyond me.
