in fact id consider that pretty good
If I can get a plane, yes I will take it, why not? I can hold my own easily on the groun as infantry as well. I fancy myself a great all-around player.

someone who camps up on a rooftop getting tons of kills isn't really helping out the team as much as someone who runs up to a flag and maybe gets it half way capped while killing 1 guy and then dies , to have other teammates cap the flag the rest of the way

Tons of different scenarios where kill death ratio doesn't really help the team out at all.
        Agreed

People who use vehicles (aircraft, armor) tend to have a higher K/D ratio just because it's easier to stay alive :)

I find that when I play medic, I die a lot because I don't look for enemies when I see a teammate that needs reviving ... gotta work on that

Definantly, lol. I never play medic really. I had to force myself to get the metal, so I dont likely understand but it is a bit anoying when you die, get revived when the medic hasnt killed the person/s who killed you, then you just end up dying again, lol. That can get frustrating sometimes, especailly when it happens 2-3 times in a row. Could be nice if they had something that would let you not be revived if you wanted to spawn elsewhere instead, but thats beside the point :)

It was great me and three of my teamates were caping a flag, two guys run in and we kill one, the guy goes to revive him and all 4 of us pull out our kinves and wait for him to do it, once he did

              Two kinfe kills

So you never use vehicles? surely we all use them when they are available? Why would you not given you can get around much quicker and kick major arse. You seem to be suggesting you can exclusivly just use vehicles but I am sure the vast majority of players do as I do which is play with whatever is avaible. No vehicles means playing on foot.

There is of course a type of player that just camps for aircraft all the time and never does anything else but the ground vehicles don't really seem to have the same types of players after them. I mean when did you last see 4 or 5 guys queuing for an APC to spawn?

If Bf 2 was not a team game then maybe it could be based on K:d but it isn't so no.

i'm basically evens for my k/d ratio.. but looking at the peeps with very good k/d rations my global/team score ration is much better. ie. the guy who posted "you want me on your team" has a global of 5800 or so with a team of about 600. I have a global of 5300 with a team of 1800. It's not up to me to say which is more useful, but i like the fact that I seem to be a good team player.

people who kill a lot and die a lot are actualy good players, the ones killing a lot and not dieing are campers, do not think that those guys who never die and do kill that they are the best, they are just scared to die and do nothing usefull in a game

I agree however this chances in different games.. for instance in Cs if you have a good k:d ration e.g. 5:1 that means your good, in BF 2 on alot of cases it means your a camper.. not all the time though, if you are a good hele pilot or APC driver you will rack up kills without dieing but it does not mean you camp

I'm an SpecOps/Armor guy. I have almost no playing time with all the other classes. I definitely die a lot when on foot fighting for flags and fighting against the enemies. But once I'm in a tank different story. If the tank is available to me, I'm on it.

I disagree with you bigtime. I've seen some fantastic pilots out there shooting down enemies, transporting troops. There's a lot of selfless pilots out there busting their virtual butts out there. I definitely give the
good Blackhawk pilots a lot of respect for doing what they do. As for the tank players, you need to watch out for them good Armor/LAV drivers.

And you say these guys aren't good! think about what you posted.

Just think about what you said, too...if they depend only on non-infantry stuff, they'll die in like Karkand where infantry have a chance to shine, and there are no helicopters or planes.

staying alive is the whole point. dying means your team loses a ticket, so obviously using armor which makes it easier to kill enemies while staying alive yourself is logical. i hate it when jackasses use tanks and apcs to capture far-off bases on karkand when they could be more useful defending your teammates and killing the opposition on the frontline. right now i only consider jet pilots to be the least skilled because bf2 doesn't have any decent AA defense against jets. when i say least skilled i'm not saying you suck at flying, it's just easy to rack up on kills without dying.
